How fast are orders hitting the book? High velocity means "market orders" (aggression). Low velocity means "limit orders" (passivity). We track the speed of the tape in ms.
Mass (Volume)
Is there weight behind the move? A price move with low mass is easily reversed. A move with high mass requires significant opposing force to stop.
Friction (Resistance)
Where is the limit order wall? Friction is the "thick" part of the order book. We calculate the path of least resistance to predict where price wants to go.
